After a year’s break Pocket Film Festival returned to Stafford once more, bringing one-off screenings, exhibitions and events to venues in Stafford from 9-15 March 2020.
This was the third Pocket Film Festival in Stafford, bringing with it a rich mix of film and culture to venues such as Shire Hall, Oddfellows Hall, Candid Beer, the Gatehouse Theatre and St. Mary’s Church.
Working with Staffordshire County Council, the BFI Film Audience Network and the Media Archive for Central England (MACE), the festival had a brilliant pick of films old and new as well as events celebrating Stafford’s local culture and history.
Highlights included the opening night screening of Back to The Future, century old Cabinet of Dr Caligari, and The Cameraman, starring Buster Keaton. There was also a short film night alongside Staffordshire Record Office’s new exhibition, local archive screenings from MACE, and family friendly Colour Box films and activities from the Flatpack team.
The Pocket Film Festival 2020 was made possible with support from Film Hub Midlands through funds from the National Lottery. Film Hub Midlands support people to watch, show, and make films in the Midlands.
